What do you do when the heat index is 105 degrees? You pull out the sprinkler of course.

Happy Father's Day
The girls love their Dadda and had a ball celebrating Father's Day with Justin. The got him up early to give him their gifts. They were so proud of the homemade wrapping paper they had made. We treated Justin to brunch at one of his favorite restaurants, Lidia's. They have an amazing brunch on Sundays.
We love you Justin and thanks for being such a wonderful father!

Nags Head
I don't think there are very many beaches as beautiful as what you find on the Outer Banks. We love going there each year and look forward to our next trip (yes, the girls are already asking about the beach and we just got back). Marin said to me just yesterday, "Mom, I miss the beach."
Of course I think a lot of that is that she misses her Nanny and Pappy.
We traveled down to Ocracoke Island this trip. The girls loved taking the ferry over and thought it was fascinating that the boat took our car over, too! Another highlight for us was climbing Jockey's Ridge and watching the sun set over Roanoke Island/Manteo. It's the largest natural sand dune on the east coast and for kids it's just one gigantic sand box with hills to run down. They had a blast!!
Madeleine is now into pirates and had to get a glow in the dark pirate shirt. Marin picked one out, too. The Outer Banks was once home to many pirates, including Black Beard, so there are pirate souvenirs and "treasures" everywhere.

Washable markers
Lenoir
Here are some photos of the girls with their Great Grandma eating Bar-B-Q and"mushpuppies", hanging out with Uncle Todd and Sara and Madeleine's birthday party at Mimi's. My Aunt brought over her very tiny Yorkie, Rusty. Madeleine LOVED Rusty and took him for rides around the living room in her cozy coupe.
Our trip to NC
We just returned from a wonderful visit in NC. First to York, SC to visit Gigi and Papaw Mickey, then off to Lenoir for a week with Mimi, followed by a week spent in Nags Head with Nanny and Pappy. What a great trip!!! It's was so wonderful to be with family that we don't see nearly enough. The girls did great and enjoyed every minute of our vacation.
