The girls and I spent the day at Deanna Rose Farmstead on Wednesday. It was a beautiful day to see the pigs, cows, turkeys, sheep and chickens. Madeleine's favorite animal of course were the pigs. They were actually rooting around in the mud... which she found hysterical.

We also planted our garden (a little late, but better late than never). Marin LOVES gardening and helped me plant lots of flower seeds. She is so excited to watch them grow.

A side note...I was putting the girl's sandbox together yesterday and looked up and there was a SNAKE! EKKKK. I'm not a snake person and I think I cleared 3 lawn chairs getting inside (glad the girls were sleeping and didn't see my display of terror!!!). It was a harmless garden snake, but still...it's a snake.

We are heading to Crown Center this afternoon to Jiggle Jam. Justin Roberts and They Might Be Giants are playing. Should be a lot of fun.

Happy Memorial Day!

Washer and Dryer

Why you might ask am I blogging about my new washer and dryer? Well...I've been using a VERY small, small capacity, energy efficient stackable unit since we moved into our house in 2004. With 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs I have been tied down to laundry for toooo long (just one very small load would take over 1.5 hours just to wash)!

So, here's to my new lease on life and lots of extra time not spent doing laundry.  Cheers!!!!

A few more photos from Madeleine's party

Madeleine's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Madeleine's 2nd birthday a little early yesterday. We had "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" themed party for her as it's one of her very favorite books right now. We  had a caterpillar hunt in the backyard, followed by butterfly tattoos. Lots of friends came and we had a wonderful time. The weather was just perfect, too!

Our little Madeleine is growing up so fast. Big sister Marin is too.

Happy Birthday, Maddie Moo! We love you.
